Our Favorite Books

Rawvitalize. This is a 21-day plan to consume raw foods, (there are some ingredients that are vegan on the cusp of not being raw, but still great for your body) to recharge, revamp your body. It’s a good detox, and a way to get back on track. I love this book so far, mostly because the ingredients are accessible, and recipes are not complicated at all. They are under 10 minutes to prepare.

Oh she Glows. We’ve been cooking several recipes off of this one. It offers great vegan recipes. It’s currently my favorite.

Skinnytaste. This book is great because it takes into account one’s needs to eat low calorie, while still eating foods that are more mainstream or healthy comfort.

One Pot. This is the perfect title for this book. There are days we don’t want to clean-up a messy kitchen. We want dinner to be easy, fast and delicious. The book is broken down into type of cooking receptacle, ie dutch oven, slow cooker, pressure cooker, etc. This book has my favorite recipe for a “pizookie” style cookie baked in a cast iron skillet. It’s the perfect size because it can be eaten by two people in a period of 2-3 days.

Cooking for Two. I find this book to be amazing because it’s taken the work out of reducing ingredients to accommodate a family of two. Sometimes, even if you have kids, you end up cooking for two and cooking food for the kids separately so I find it’s still very practical. This isn’t a lifestyle book. It has all types of recipes, including a great recipe for small batches of cookies.
